I think you're right about the similarity between english and chinese ancient language when it comes to verses or poems. I sometimes feel modern chinese is less powerful in expression, less neat and tend to be prolix ) H5 X# E$ n" C7 d$ p) c9 U6 A+ p3 S1 m$ S
